Painting the Colours of Spring

Looking at painterly techniques and colour ideas, whilst allowing you to paint and share your developmental process. We will look at a range of artists and learn how different painterly techniques can be used to recreate the observed colours of spring. Referring to the works of Monet, Van Gogh, Bonnard, David Bomberg and Sheila Fell, we will look at how the exuberant colours of spring can be used to create paintings with light and life. The sessions will include a discussion about the different artists followed by an opportunity to work on your own paintings, with input and advice from the tutor as your painting progresses. We will also look at colour mixing, separating colours and achieving an overall harmony in the painting.
