An interactive class exploring ways of creating paintings with the most limited of means, seeing how artists of the past have made some of the greatest artworks without a studio. We will exchange ideas about drawing and painting and focus on developing your individual ‘voice’ as a painter.

An open-studio online art learning experience in your own home, with 2-hour weekly classes over 6 weeks delivered via Zoom.

Awarded the Gold Medal and Ondaatje Prize for Portraiture from the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. Desmond has an MA in Fine Art from the Royal College of Art, London and many awards including Gold Medal and Ondaatje Prize for Portraiture from the Royal Society of Portrait Painters Exhibition and the Stephenson Harwood Prize for Painting from the Royal College of Art.
A desktop PC/Mac, laptop or tablet with an up to date internet browser (ideally Google Chrome or Firefox) and Zoom installed, a good internet connection, well lit room and your materials.
HSoA Virtual classes are delivered using Zoom. Access details will be provided on your receipt and are available via your account dashboard. They will also be emailed to you the day before or 1 hour before your class starts.
