Lady Rachel Scott Bowling

Lady Rachel Scott Bowling trained as a painter at the Royal College of Art in the late 1950’s - early ‘60’s. Her painters eye is evident in the compositional complexities of and balance in her current work as weaver, spinner. She tells us that she could not weave without a compositional plan in mind.

Her exhibition at HSoA Gallery ‘Rachel Scott New Works 2017-18’ was a complete inspiration and its accompanying essay by John Búnker with introduction and photographs of the interiors, designed and photographed by HSoA Principal Isabel H Langtry was available at Tate bookshop. Rachel takes an important creative lead at the art school and the Lady Rachel Scott Bowling bursary creates a yearly learning opportunity for a wide range of people whose creative development is reliant on this wonderful opportunity which covers the burden of fees.
