Materials Guide

Please provide your own materials & tools, unless stated otherwise in the class description.

New students, please bring at least drawing materials to your first class, i.e. pencils, rubbers, sharpener, paper/sketchbook, masking tape, charcoal - where appropriate. You can bring any paints you may already have or a starter set if you would like to, otherwise additional materials/recommendations can be discussed with your tutor during class. Studios are equipped with easels (table or standing), drawing boards, tables/stools/chairs.

Drying racks are limited in size & number, we can not guarantee there will be space for your work, though we try to make reasonable accommodations where possible.
The maximum size canvas our studios can accommodate are A1 or 60x84cm.
Please take all artwork home by the end of term.

HSoA has a small art shop as part of our office. Our supplies are focused on specialist classes and basic materials. Consistently in stock we have - large single sheet sugar/cartridge/newsprint paper, A2 oil painting paper, 2B pencils, rubbers, A4/A3/A2 canvas, masking tape and charcoal. Our card machine has a minimum £1 charge.

Cass Art offer an HSoA student discount at the Hampstead branch (58-62 Heath St, London NW3 1EN) by showing your HSoA class booking receipt for the current term. This receipt will have been emailed to you or you can find it via 'View Account' in the top right menu when logged in.
