"The first time I saw an Özlem Thompson painting I literally fell into it - metaphorically speaking, the work is enchanting, magical, I was lost in it in a way that is totally absorbing. This is Subliminal Expressionism, a term that came to mind, a new category perhaps! There is botany, fantasy, colour, lyrical and oscillating movements reminiscent of ‘mind music’. The work is charming, uplifting, a dose of vitamin C.
