Getting set up to learn with HSoA Virtual

Our Virtual Studio Live, Studio + Online Live and Paint-Along Live classes take place on Zoom. Once you've made a booking, Access details will be provided on your receipt and are available via your account dashboard. They will also be emailed to you 1 hour before your class starts.

What equipment will you need?

You will need a desktop PC/MAC, laptop or a tablet with inbuilt and/or external web cam, up to date web browser – Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge and a good internet connection. If you are using a desktop PC or Mac, you may need an external microphone and/or speakers or headset.

You will need a minimum of Windows 7 or Mac OSX 10.5+.

If you haven’t used Zoom before, you can install it ahead or simply click on the class link you receive by email and follow the prompts to download the software, as shown in the video.

If you are using a tablet, you will need to download the Zoom app in either Apple’s App store or the Google Play Store. It’s free to download.

Before your class starts, please make sure you run Windows/Mac software and Zoom updates and test out your set up.

Please ensure your working area is well lit and you are clear on screen.

What’s the etiquette?

Please be prompt and patient. Join Zoom 10 minutes before the class start time and the tutor will admit you when the class begins. When you join, your browser may ask for permission to use the camera and the microphone. Please allow these. Your tutor may mute your microphone before the class starts.

No recording is permitted.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
