Deborah Hardwood lecture, 'Where do I start?'

An illustrated talk exploring processes and outcomes and how creativity can be accessed in so many different ways.

"As a maker of bespoke textiles I am particularly interested in the simplicity of form coupled with the complexity of the texture. To this end I can use many techniques on one piece, including painting and dying fabric, felting, trapunto, quilting and of course, stitch, both by hand and free hand machine embroidery." says Harwood.

Harwood studied at Winchester School of Art, Southampton University BA (Hons) Textiles Fashion and Fibre (Textile Art). She is a visiting lecturer/Artist Educator for Pallant House Gallery, was awarded 2014 Sussex Woman of the Year in Arts and is founder of The Textile Space, Charlton, West Sussex.
