Life Drawing and Painting / Studio + Online

Explore drawing from nude, short and long poses. The course will explore measurement, spontaneity, line, tone and colour. We will be referencing the work of artists drawings. Use different media: charcoal, graphite, pastel, watercolour, ink, gouache, acrylic. All levels.

Mick Kirkbride

Painter and teacher Mick Kirkbride is a graduate of the Royal Academy Schools (1992-1995). He was Senior Lecturer in Visual Studies at the London College of Fashion, University of the Arts from 1996 to 2011. In 2004 he was elected a member of The New English Art Club, becoming the Curator of its education programme in 2014 teaching a range of drawing classes at both The Mall Galleries Learning Centre and Heatherley’s School of Art. Mick has taught drawing and painting at all levels including postgraduate. For the past four years he has led a series of life-drawing classes and specialist workshops for the Royal Academy of Arts’ Academic Programme.

What equipment will I need?

A desktop PC/Mac, laptop or tablet with an up to date internet browser (ideally Google Chrome or Firefox) and Zoom installed, a good internet connection, well lit room and your materials.

How do I access my class?

HSoA Virtual classes are delivered using Zoom. Access details will be provided on your receipt and are available via your account dashboard. They will also be emailed to you the day before or 1 hour before your class starts.
